PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that strengthening of human development and national institutions could build a strong Pakistan and asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to devote itself for the services of people.
He said this as a chief guest during the launch ceremony of ‘Sehat Insaf Card’ beside Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Health Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, Education Minister Atif Khan, Public Health Minister Shah Farman and Health Secretary Abid Majeed and others attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Imran Khan said that no society can develop without human development so money should be spent on their wellbeing and added, “Today I feel very happy that the KP government has launched a good programme for poor people in health sector.”
Imran Khan advised his party’s government to struggle further hard and facilitate the masses, adding that if the government performs well and actually deliver, then it would not need to spend billions of rupees on advertisement.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said that the province was being criticised for not executing mega projects. He said the provision of basic facilities including health and education were among the top priorities of his government.
Khattak said that when PTI came to power in the province, there was nothing and all the departments had looted the national exchequer so his party first made various government bodies autonomous and gave free hand to police and other departments to streamline their affairs, adding KP introduced around 100 legislations as part of efforts to ensure good governance.
Senior Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai said pragmatic measures are being taken in health sector to provide basic facilities to people at their doorstep. The KP government, he said, has appointed 1,100 doctors and 2,700 more would be soon appointed.
