CHARSADDA: The police on Wednesday arrested 27 suspects including seven proclaimed offenders (POs) and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession in Mandani area, official sources said. They said the police raided various areas in the limits of Mandani Police station and arrested 27 suspects. The police recovered five Kalashnikovs, 14 pistols, three rifles, ammunition and narcotics from their possession. Earlier, on Tuesday security forces had also arrested an alleged militant, Luqman Khan, from a Madrassah in Tangi tehsil of the district. Four Kalashnikovs had also been recovered from his possession. The militant was a resident of Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency and used to study at a madrassa, sources said. A week ago, security forces had taken into custody another alleged militant Rizwan, a resident of Bajaur Agency, from the same seminary. Two pistols and a double-edged dagger had been recovered from him.
